The RunDown

IMG_4488Who am I?

My name’s Beth and I love to run. I also love to write about running, read about running and talk about running and share my experience of running with those who are interested. I have other slight passions including reading, writing, buying excessive amounts of running gear and books.

I also suffer with anxiety and depression, both of which are helped by running. I was really scared to give it a go because my mind was telling me I don’t look like a runner and I won’t do well. Nothing like proving something wrong.

What am I doing here?

I’m here to write about my journey to becoming a bit more of a runner. Are you a runner? Do you write about your experiences? I’d love to read all about what you’re doing and how you’re doing things. I’m here because I was inspired by my late Nans to go out and challenge myself. I do like a good challenge and nothing is quite as big as the London Marathon 2017 right? Big ambitions!

So what?

So, although blogs can be self involved, I love to improve on what I like and get feedback and advice from those who know what they’re talking about. I’m making new connections every day and am enjoying the new blogs I’m getting to read and discover.

Why should you read on?

Why not? You never know, you might just like me!

  1. I love the name of your blog and everything you’re doing! I’ve never been one to run, but I’ve heard it’s about the discipline and showing up for it. It never really gets easy. But that resonates with so many avenues of life! I like to write, and it’s definitely that way for me too.

    1. Hi there! Thanks so much for your lovely compliment 🙂 I really enjoyed looking at your blog too! It’s so lovely and the writing is fab! Oo you should give running a little shot. I find it helps with writer’s block sometimes. I write poetry and exercise clears the space in my head so I can think. Maybe give it a try and see if it works for you 🙂

      1. I actually saw someone running this morning on my way to work and I was like, “I really should give that another shot.” But inevitably I won’t want to when the time comes to actually put on my sneakers!
